Tumour necrosis factor-α (TNFα) is a multifarious mediator of lymphoid tissue growth and antimicrobial defence mechanisms, it acts as pro-inflammatory regulator. The function TNFα in parasite infection the underlying mechanism through which nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) regulates remain largely unclear teleosts.
